Ordering

How do I know a camera will actually work?
Every camera is opened, cleaned, exercised, and shot through before we list it. We grade it against the same rubric every time — see how we grade. If a camera arrives different from how we described it, we cover it within 72 hours of delivery.
Can I see more photos before buying?
Yes. Email filmcamindia@gmail.com with the camera handle and we'll send extra angles, sample shots from the test roll if available, and any wear details that didn't make the listing.
Do you sell internationally?
On request. Most listings ship India-only by default; email us with the camera and your country and we'll quote shipping.
What if the camera I want is sold?
We keep a small wait-list per model. Email us the model + your budget and we'll let you know the next time one in your range comes in.

Shipping

How long will it take to reach me?
Orders are processed and shipped within 3–4 business days after order confirmation. After dispatch, delivery typically takes 4–9 business days depending on the destination and courier. Times can shift for remote pin codes, weather, or holidays.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes, on orders above ₹2,000 within India. Smaller orders carry a flat shipping fee shown at checkout.
How are cameras packaged?
Bubble-wrapped, padded, and double-boxed when the camera is delicate (TLRs, large-format, anything with a fragile front element). We've shipped 500+ cameras across India with very few transit issues.
What couriers do you use?
Delhivery primarily, with India Post for serviceable-but-remote pins. You get a tracking number by email on dispatch.

Returns & guarantees

Can I return a camera?
Yes, within 72 hours of delivery, if the camera is materially different from the listing. Normal wear, age-related quirks, and change of mind are not covered since everything we sell is vintage. See the full policy.
How does the refund work?
Once we approve a return and you ship it back (we provide the shipping label), the refund goes to your original payment method within 7 business days. Your bank may take a few extra days to credit it.
Do you offer warranties?
No formal warranty — these are vintage cameras and we're honest about that. Our promise is that the camera matches our description on arrival. If a shutter dies six months later, it's the camera's age, not a manufacturing defect.
Can I exchange a camera for a different one?
Not directly. Request a return, get refunded, then order the new one. Easier to track and avoids a lot of edge cases.

Condition & grading

What does "Mint", "Excellent", "Good", "Working" actually mean?
See the full rubric with sample photos at how we grade. Short version: Mint = nearly unused with no visible wear; Excellent = light wear, no functional issues; Good = clear cosmetic wear, fully functional; Working = obvious wear but the camera does its job reliably.
Does "Working" mean I should expect problems?
No. It means the camera has lived a full life and looks it. The shutter fires at all speeds, the meter (if any) reads correctly, the lens is clean. We'd use it ourselves.
Has the camera been serviced/CLA'd?
We service when needed — light seals replaced, lenses cleaned, shutters exercised. If a camera has been professionally CLA'd we say so explicitly in the listing.

Payment & taxes

What payment methods do you accept?
UPI, Razorpay (cards/netbanking), Visa, Mastercard. Cash on delivery on selected serviceable pin codes for orders under ₹15,000.
Is GST included in the price?
Yes. Listed prices are all-inclusive. Your invoice shows the GST breakdown.
Can I get a tax invoice for business purchases?
Yes — email us your GSTIN after placing the order and we'll send a proper GST invoice.

Selling to us

Do you buy cameras from individuals?
Yes. Email us the make, model, condition notes, and 4–6 photos. We'll quote within 1–2 working days. Pay via UPI/bank transfer the same day you ship it (after we receive + verify).
What do you NOT buy?
Anything with mould on the lens, anything fully non-functional with no parts value, anything we can't source spares for. Email us anyway — we usually take a look.
